LONE STAR, Texas (KLTV) - Lone Star Mayor Brianna McClain's seat will become vacant Tuesday following her third consecutive absence from the city's monthly city council meetings.

McClain announced her resignation in a Facebook post Sunday, citing a demanding day job and an upcoming move to a property outside city limits."I've been trying to wear too many hats at once," McClain wrote, describing late nights and early mornings trying to maintain both roles.

"Right now my job needs more of me, and so does my family."Under Texas law, a city council member's seat is automatically vacated without a council vote after three consecutive missed regular meetings; however, a "holdover" rule stipulates McClain will retain full acting authority until a successor is elected and sworn in."So I'm not vanishing on Tuesday," she wrote.
