ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Ector County hosted a topping out ceremony for its new Juvenile Justice Center, celebrating the placement of the facility's final structural beam.

County officials, community members and construction workers gathered at the site, where attendees signed the last structural beam before its installation.

The event also included an appreciation lunch for subcontractors who worked on the project."We're just not building a facility here, we're building a pathway to work with at-risk youth and their families, and that's what's important," said Kevin Mann, director of the Ector County Juvenile Center."We had everybody out here. We also had a sub appreciation, so everyone who worked out here on this project - we're giving them some lunch as well. We signed that beam that will be put in place, that will be here for the entirety of the facility," Mann said.
