MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Hundreds of people took part in the Tall City Memorial Stair Climb at Astound Broadband Stadium, climbing more than 2,000 steps to honor first responders who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks 25 years ago.

Organizers said this year's climb was one of the hottest they have had, but that didn't stop each participant from climbing 110 flights of stairs.

Organizer says climb honors sacrificeMidland Fire Department Assistant Chief Bryce Pruitt has organized the climb every year."Part of it is to do it in their honor, but part of it is to suffer a little bit, the way those guys suffered," Pruitt said.
