SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Sherman police say they have seen an increase in complaints about street racing and reckless driving in the city."It's an uptick on the complaints. We received quite a few complaints around town of people racing or reckless driving," said Sgt. Brandon Hughes with the Sherman Police Department.

Two arrested on Texoma ParkwayThis week, 29-year-old Juan Velazquez and 19-year-old Angel Galdamez were arrested and accused of racing on Texoma Parkway."An officer observed the two vehicles side by side, accelerating quickly in a competitive attempt to outdo the other," Hughes said.

Officers say the behavior has become more common in recent years."It feels like in the last year or two, we've had more of them," Hughes said.
