LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The investigation into the county's "double salary" payments has been handed over to outside prosecutors.

Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney Sunshine Stanek confirms with KCBD that she and the Lubbock DA's office has recused themselves from the ongoing investigation into county payroll disputes involving the Precinct 2 commissioner seat.

Stanek says the case is now being referred to the Midland County DA's office.
