WACO, Texas (KWTX) - McLennan County landowners petitioned the county commissioners court Tuesday to create an "Agricultural Development District," hoping the designation could block data center projects from moving into the area.

The court voted to deny the petition.

Residents argued the projects would threaten the local water supply, bring noise pollution, and disrupt rural communities.
