EDGE Engineering has partnered with UGRA to evaluate and develop flood mitigation solutions across the Guadalupe River area as part of a feasibility study funded by the Texas Water Development Board.

Tara Bushnoe, UGRA general manager and primary contact for the project, outlined the mission of the research.

"The goal is to develop a plan that reduces flood risk both to lives and to property. There's one large flood plan for the whole state, and it's made up of individual regional plans. Our region is No. 11, the Guadalupe region, and I've been a representative on that flood planning group since about 2022." Bushnoe elaborated, "UGRA is serving as the local sponsor for that project, and Texas Water Development Board is funding this feasibility study. They selected EDGE Engineering to complete that study." Project team members Travis Kaatz and Andrew Swynenberg from EDGE Engineering led the public community meeting at UGRA on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Kaatz explained the purpose and goals of the Flood Mitigation Evaluation (FME) program.
