HILLSBORO, Texas (KWTX) - A Hill County man charged in the November 2022 beating death of his stepfather during an argument over food has been found incompetent to stand trial.

Akeno Delajuan Rolla, 41, was set for trial Monday in 66th State District Court in Hillsboro on a murder charge before Waco psychologist Lee Carter found him mentally incompetent to stand trial.

Defense attorney Pat Dohoney asked for the mental evaluation after he had concerns about Rolla's mental stability and his inability to effectively assist in his defense.
