(KGNS) - September is National Recovery Month, and one Laredo organization says the fight against addiction often starts closer to home than parents think.
Serving Children and Adults in Need (SCAN) says alcohol remains the most commonly reported drug misused by teens.
Nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that about 4,000 people under 21 die every year from excessive drinking.
