A new recall from Mercedes-Benz covers tens of thousands of the carmaker's most expensive models, ones that would have likely sold for six-figure sums when new.

Big picture view: The recall, which includes certain Maybach sedans as well as some AMG and S-Class models, is the result of an issue with the brake hoses.
