LAKE TRAVIS, Texas - Rescuers recovered the body of a man in his 20s from Lake Travis on Sunday morning, nearly 18 hours after he was reported missing while swimming, authorities said.

What we know: Emergency personnel from multiple agencies responded at 5:47 p.m. Saturday to a 911 call reporting a swimmer in distress near Lago Vista, according to Travis County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kristen Dark.

Initial rescue efforts were unsuccessful, prompting officials to transition the operation to a recovery mission.
