WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Classrooms filled up across Waco Independent School District on Wednesday morning as the remaining campuses officially kicked off the new school year.

While some students at Dean Highland and South Waco elementary schools got an early start on classes earlier this month, Wednesday marked the first day back for the rest of the district.

District leaders emphasized that while there are no major policy changes taking effect this fall, enforcement of existing rules will remain in place.
