(KGNS) - A Laredo police officer is hospitalized in stable condition after a downtown arrest, according to police.

Police said 29-year-old Fernando Cabrera struck an officer during a fight after officers approached him near Lincoln and Flores around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. Officers said they first saw Cabrera striking store windows.

Police said he ran when they approached and fought with officers before they subdued and detained him.
