Drivers on Houston's east side should prepare for a full weekend closure of a stretch of westbound Interstate 10 next week as crews complete asphalt repairs.
The Texas Department of Transportation announced that all westbound lanes of I-10 between Freeport Street and Uvalde Road/Market Street will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17. According to TxDOT, the closure is needed for asphalt repair work.
During the closure, motorists traveling westbound on I-10 will be required to: TxDOT advises drivers to expect delays and consider allowing extra travel time or seeking alternate routes during the weekend closure.
