Trailing 14-7 at halftime, the Early Longhorns rallied in the second half and kept themselves in the District 3-3A Division I championship race with a 28-21 road victory over the Ingram Moore Warriors Friday night.

With the win, another Early (7-2, 2-1) victory next week over Llano (5-4, 1-2), coupled with an Ingram Moore (7-2, 2-1) win over Wall (8-1, 3-0), would find the Longhorns in a three-way tie for the district championship with the Hawks and the Warriors.

If the Longhorns knock off Llano next week and Ingram Moore falls to Wall, Early would then land the No. 2 seed from the district for the playoffs and be in line to face the loser of Friday night's battle between Vernon (5-4, 2-1) and Peaster (4-5, 2-1) for second place in District 4-3A Division I. Early finished with 401 yards of total offense - 306 rushing and 95 passing - against Ingram Moore, with one turnover.
