The Brown County Sheriff's Office issued the following press release Saturday morning updating Friday night's double homicide investigation: On October 30, 2026, at approximately 5:24 pm, the Brown County Sheriff's Office, along with the Brownwood Police Department, responded to a residence just outside the city limits of Brownwood on Abilene St. where the caller reported two deceased people inside the residence.

The caller was identified as Robert Clinton Hamill Jr., 29 years of age.

Once inside the residence, officers located 57-year-old Robert Clinton Hamill Sr. and 50-year-old Billie Yoakum Hamill deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
