ATHENS, Texas (KLTV) - A judge has approved the dismissal of a criminal charge against the former Coffee City mayor and police chief after he surrendered his peace officer's license.

A grand jury indicted Frank Serrato, 56, in May of 2023.

Serrato was accused of defrauding the City of Coffee City by making false entries in a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Personal History Statement by ommitting facts on employment and issues with law enforcement investigations.
