East Texas shelters kick off month-long specials in Clear the Shelters adoption effort

East Texas animal shelters are participating in the national Clear the Shelters adoption initiative to reduce overcrowding and find homes for animals during the busy summer season.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A national effort to Clear the Shelters has made its way to East Texas.

The Clear the Shelters movement is a cross-country initiative to relieve shelters of the intense spring and summer influx of animals, providing them with much needed homes and opening space to rescue more.

Pets Fur PeopleEvery Thursday: Cat adoption fees reduced to $30 every Thursday in AugustEvery Friday: Dog adoption fees reduced to $50 every Friday in AugustEvery Saturday: Adult dog and cat adoptions free with donation of 40-pound or 20-pound bags of food, respectively.
