HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A group of 29 Texas state representatives is asking the Public Utility Commission to investigate Aqua Texas as customers across the state face higher water and wastewater bills under the company's interim rates.

The lawmakers sent a letter to the PUC on October 2, citing concerns about Aqua Texas' proposed rate increase and the impact of the interim rates currently being charged to customers.

In one northwest Harris County community, residents have collected hundreds of Aqua Texas bills to document the increases.
