(KGNS) - The Laredo Police Department brought music and lessons on making smart choices to United ISD students, with help from McGruff the Crime Dog.

Students filled the UISD auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 21, dancing to songs from the department's community relations unit.

Students also learned about the dangers of drugs, the importance of making smart choices, and how everyone can help take a bite out of crime."Aside from enforcing crime, aside from going and catching all these people accused of wrongdoing, there are also officers who are tasked with reaching out to the youth, reaching out to the community and telling them that they should be making good decisions in life," said Cesar Rodriguez of the Laredo Police Department.
