TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Preliminary data collected by robots that scanned Tyler's sidewalks this summer shows a clear pattern: older parts of the city have far more sidewalks than newer neighborhoods, according to Michael Howell, Tyler's ADA coordinator."It's very telling of how development patterns have changed in Tyler over the years. Neighborhoods built from the 1940s through the 1990s didn't have sidewalk requirements," Howell said.

Downtown districts had the most sidewalkThe data showed council districts 2 and 4 had the most sidewalk reviewed, Howell said.

District 2 covers west Tyler and District 4 covers northeast Tyler; both include the core of downtown, which was developed when the city was more walkable and had a streetcar system, according to Howell.
