The New Braunfels Noon Lions held the third annual Sheriff Robert Holder First Responders of the Year Awards on Aug. 20, where they honored Sheriff's Deputy Eric Guerrettaz, Police Officer Joseph Munguia and Firefighter Jeff Walters.

The awards have been presented annually by the Noon Lions Club since 2023, in honor of the late former Sheriff Robert "Bob" Holder, who was also a longtime Lion and law enforcement officer.

Each year, one individual from each of the three first responder departments is honored with a "best of the year" award in their field.
