The Brownwood Lady Lions split their two pool play matches Friday morning at the Abilene Bev Ball Classic, notching their first victory of the 2026 campaign in the process.

The Lady Lions handed Class 3A Sweetwater a 25-18, 26-24 defeat, while falling at the hands of Class 5A Abilene Cooper, 25-20, 25-13.

Against Sweetwater, Kaydence Chandler paced Brownwood with seven kills followed by Camryn Gipson and Ashantia Green with four apiece, Demayha Hooker with three, and Kimber McLean and Lexi Driskill each with a pair.
