(WCTV/Gray News) - A Florida woman is facing several charges after officers say they found a half-dozen children unsupervised and living in deplorable conditions.

Jamie Jakes, 30, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department over the weekend on six counts of child neglect.

Authorities said the situation started when patrolling officers noticed a vehicle turn and swerve onto the curve early Sunday morning to barely avoid hitting a child.
