POLK COUNTY, Texas - While some parts of the Houston area saw little to no rain from Tropical Storm Edouard, families in East Livingston woke up to flooded roads, widespread power outages and trees crashing onto their homes.

For Jackie Polk and her family, the storm's impact came suddenly at about 1 a.m., when a large tree fell through the roof of their home and damaged two vehicles.

"So we were awoken at about one in the morning to the tree cracking and falling onto the house, and my husband woke me up," Polk said.
