SUGAR LAND, Texas - What started at a family kitchen table in 2023 has grown into a community effort to fight food waste.

Sid Sharma, a 17-year-old senior at Elkins High School, founded Waste2Taste, a program that collects surplus food from grocery stores and finds ways to put it to use in the community.

Sid works with grocery stores to collect food that is still safe to eat but can no longer be sold.
