EAST BERNARD, Texas - East Bernard ISD is mourning the deaths of Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jeremy Jenkins and his wife, Brandy Jenkins, a teacher at East Bernard Junior High School.

According to a message from Superintendent Courtney Hudgins, the couple died in a car crash Saturday evening, "Jeremy and Brandy were much more than their titles or the roles they held within our schools," Hudgins wrote.

"They were colleagues, educators, mentors, friends, and family." Brandy Jenkins had recently joined the district.
