WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A McLennan Community College music professor is among five finalists for the Texas Country Music Association's Keyboard and Pianist of the Year award.

Shane Hall, an assistant professor in MCC's Music Industry Careers Program, was nominated for his work performing alongside Texas country artist Billie Jo.

Hall learned of the nomination when Billie Jo sent him a text message with a screenshot of the announcement, his name highlighted."I was just... I received a text message from Billie Jo, and she sent a screenshot of the... they had just announced the nominations, and she sent it to me and highlighted my name and said congratulations," Hall said.
