KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Killeen City Council will discuss how to approach possible data center regulations at its meeting Tuesday, though there are no current plans to bring a data center to the city.
Data centers have been built across the country and in Central Texas, becoming a controversial issue in some communities.
Killeen City Council Member At Large Melissa Brown said the city currently has no regulations addressing data centers."Right now, the City of Killeen has zero regulations on it. So, they can go literally any place in a manufacturing zone with now additional regulations or safeguards," Brown said.
