CAMERON, Texas (KWTX) - A Milam County grand jury has declined to indict anyone in connection with animal cruelty allegations at Dogtown Ranch and Sanctuary, prompting the Milam County Sheriff's Office to officially close its criminal case.

Grand jurors returned a "no bill" on Sept. 10 after reviewing evidence gathered during an extensive probe by sheriff's investigators, finding insufficient probable cause to support criminal charges.

Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore said the decision followed a rigorous, documented review by deputies and an independent panel of citizens."This was a thoroughly documented investigation by our office, and I want the public to understand the scope of the work that went into it," Clore said.
