MANVEL, Texas (KTRK) -- Population growth is booming in certain parts of the Houston region.

In Manvel, city council members recently rejected a plan to develop more than 1,200 homes along Masters Road and Old Chocolate Bayou Road.

The site covers more than 700 acres, which a developer hopes to turn into homes.
