LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The City of Lubbock is breaking ground on a major reconstruction of Broadway on Friday, August 14, marking the official kickoff of a project funded by the 2024 Street Bond.

The ceremonial groundbreaking will take place at 11 a.m. at Broadway and Avenue M. The project will transform Broadway from Avenue Q to Avenue E. It features a new three-lane concrete road complete with street parking and dedicated bike lanes on both sides.

The city will install brick pavers with alternating colors at all intersections and crosswalks.
