It's a progressive brain disease caused by repeated blows to the head that has recently become more prevalent with athletes, particularly in football.

A recent study posted by the British Medical Journal found 25% of the NFL players who died from 2016 to 2021 had CTE, with a rate potentially as high as 97%.
