AUSTIN, Texas - The upper deck of I-35 has been closed for hours due to an incident involving the Austin Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety.

What we know: The Austin Police Department posted on social media about the upper deck of I-35 being closed due to an "active law enforcement incident involving DPS." APD says a large portion of southbound I-35 will be closed from Highway 183 into the downtown area.

What you can do: People are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
