Families are invited to bring blankets and snacks to the Historic City Cemetery No. 1 on the East Side for a free outdoor screening of "Hocus Pocus." The event connects Halloween fun with a 19th-century picnicking tradition and ongoing cemetery preservation efforts.

The Picnic and a Movie event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and the movie is expected to begin around 7:30 p.m. The featured film, "Hocus Pocus," is the 1993 family Halloween classic about three witches who return to Salem, Massachusetts, after 300 years.
