LIVINGSTON, Texas (KTRE) - Livingston ISD's new Lion Stadium will unexpectedly remain closed throughout the 2026 football season after the final step in construction was delayed.

The school district began building the Lion Stadium in 2024, setting the proposed completion date for 2026.

Livingston ISD Superintendent Jeff Pack announced Thursday the opening would be delayed, stating the manufacturer for the grandstands announced they would be unable to deliver them in time for this year's football season due to "unforeseen circumstances," according to a statement.
