Candidate filing opens July 20 for three Uvalde City Council seats on the November ballot, with one incumbent seeking reelection, another stepping aside and a third ineligible to run because of term limits.

District 1 Councilman Ernest Santos plans to seek another term, while District 3 Councilwoman Eloisa R. Medina said she will not seek reelection.

District 5 Councilman Chip King has reached the city charter's term limit and is ineligible to seek reelection.
