TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A group of middle and high school students from the Tyler Independent School District took part in a Constitution Day with celebration put on by the Smith County Bar Foundation.
SCBF President, Leigh Hunt Goodson, said organizers designed the program to introduce students to the legal system and the rights established under the U.S. Constitution."The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It is where all of our rights and freedoms are housed," Goodson said.
"It's very important to educate our future leaders of America on the foundations of the Constitution."During the program, attendees actively participated in interactive presentations, including volunteering to read lines aloud from a play presented by a guest speaker."The kids were very excited. They're very engaged," Goodson said.
