A man died after a hit-and-run crash overnight on the East Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Officers responded to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian around 2 a.m. Friday in the 800 block of Dawson Street.

Upon arrival, officers were told that a driver traveling westbound in a 2017 Kia Sorento at a high rate of speed struck the man, SAPD said.
