The Brownwood Lady Lions placed fifth as a team at the Round Rock McNeil Invitational cross country meet early Friday morning at Old Settlers Park, site of the UIL Cross Country State Championships.

In the Class 4A Division, the Lady Lions amassed 188 points while trailed Canyon (109), Salado (114), Decatur (142) and Randall (165).

Brownwood finished ahead of District 6-4A rivals Stephenville (7th, 325), Brock (14th, 462), and Glen Rose (27th, 648).
