A man died early Sunday after police say he tried to drive across train tracks on Flores Street and was hit by an approaching train.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. on South Flores Street near Nogalitos Street, according to San Antonio police.

Investigators said the man was attempting to cross the tracks as the train approached.
