LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - Thirty puppies were transported from the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center to New York through a partnership with non-profit Pilots to the Rescue."It's an opportunity for a better life," Pet foster Scott Russell said.

In an effort to avoid euthanasia in overcrowded shelters, this nonprofit moves pets toward their best chance at adoption."At the end of the day we're a community. We're all trying to kinda fight the same issues as far as overpopulation in stray animals," PAWS executive director Jackie Reynolds said.

The flight cuts down on travel time, opposed to when LACAC makes the trip by van."They're gonna have a much shorter trip," Reynolds said.
