After suffering a broken neck early this year, a local nonprofit organization director refused to let her debilitating injury halt the Community for Veteran Families mission.
And now with the help of another philanthropic organization, Community for Veteran Families Founder & Executive Director Star Traywick Nance and her list of volunteers will continue to fight for area veterans.
In the past, CVF helped veterans by giving them cash meant to help pay rent or buy food but some took advantage so now the organization has found other ways to ensure it helps former military personnel stay afloat in life, Traywick Nance said.
