HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Community members in Magnolia Park will join Houston Mayor John Whitmire, Harris County Commissioner Adrian Garcia, and Councilman Joaquin Martinez for the groundbreaking of a new drainage project.

This groundbreaking marks the start of the Magnolia Park Neighborhood Drainage Project, which Garcia proposed as part of his Revive2Thrive Initiative.

The $28. 4 million project responds to longtime residents dealing with inadequate drainage and poor road conditions that worsened with weather and heat.
