WACO, Texas (KWTX) - One day after a fire heavily damaged one of Killeen's historic churches, members of Simmonsville Missionary Baptist Church returned to the property - not for a Sunday service, but to pray, sing and lean on their community.

The church held its "Faith Still Stands" community prayer gathering Wednesday evening in the parking lot of the church at 509 S.

42nd St. Nikki Corbin is not a member of Simmonsville, but she said after seeing news coverage of the fire, she knew she wanted to be there.
