AUSTIN, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department reported that good quail populations numbers were being reported before the season starts on Nov. 1.

The TPWD said roadside survey signaled good population numbers going into opening day.

Good habitat conditions, along with timely rainfall, helped bobwhite and scaled quail production.
