Sid Peterson's sons, Hal and Charlie, were Kerrville entrepreneurs and businessmen who eventually controlled interests in 22 separate enterprises.

In the 1930's, their father became stricken with heart disease requiring frequent trips to San Antonio hospitals.

When he died in 1939, the brothers became determined that someday Kerrville would have a first-class hospital of its own.
