A Tobin Hill mansion built in 1899 and now operating as a bed-and-breakfast called A Victorian Lady Inn has hit the market for just under $2 million.

The towering 4,500-square-foot residence was designed by Atlee B. Ayres, who served as the State Architect of Texas from 1914 to 1917, and was responsible for many San Antonio landmarks, among them the Plaza Hotel, the Smith-Young Tower and the sprawling Spanish Revival home that became the McNay Art Museum.

Although this Victorian Lady has served as a rental property, its owners wisely retained many of the architectural features that show off its Golden Age vintage.
