Dr. Jennifer Shuford, the chief medical officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has resigned, the agency said in a statement on Tuesday.
Shuford, who also served as deputy director, was hired for the role in April.
Her last day will be Nov. 12, the CDC said.
