BEXAR COUNTY, Texas - Two people were hospitalized after a kitchen appliance caused a flash fire at a south Bexar County home, spokesperson for the county Monica Ramos said.

Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputies responded around 3:10 p.m. Friday in the 5500 block of Smith Road, near Somerset and Loop 1604, for a reported fire, Ramos said.

The conditions of the injured people are unknown.
